Police investigate three Dunedin burglaries

An offender who attempted to enter a flat in North Dunedin early this morning by forcing open a front window had second thoughts when the pane smashed.

After the window shattered the offender gave up and left the Titan St property. At about 6.10am the victim went to investigate the noise but did not see anything.

Nothing was taken from the property.

Meanwhile yesterday at about 11.47pm a Patmos Ave property in Woodhaugh was broken into. The home was accessed via a rear window and jewellery and watches were taken.

The day's third burglarly occured at 6.30pm in Murray Street, Mosgiel. The doors were left unlocked and about $150 cash and a laptop were taken.

A police spokesman says this serves as a valuable reminder to keep doors and windows locked. Police are investigating all three incidents.
