Erica, mother Beverly and daughter Nadia Newman have been named Family of the Year at the WeightWatchers Healthy Life Awards.
With tears in her eyes, Erica (40) said her family had always had a weight problem.
She decided to lose weight after feeling very unhealthy and finding herself out of breath when walking short distances.
"I'm a single parent to two teenagers. I wanted to make sure I was around for them. It was time to do something."
She joined WeightWatchers and 36 weeks later had lost 29kg, reaching her goal weight of 65kg.
"I love feeling the way I do now. I have so much more confidence ... and the three of us enjoy going out together now. We get some great comments."
Her 62-year-old mother saw how well her daughter was doing and, considering her own high cholesterol, also signed up.
"I went to be healthy, to see my grandchildren grow up and get married."
She admitted she was not as focused as her daughter. She had lost 23kg, but was still to get to her target weight.
Nadia (15), motivated by the family history of weight problems, wanted to learn to eat more healthily, so also joined.
She had lost 3kg to get to the goal weight her doctor had set for her.
She described her mother and grandmother's efforts as "insane".
The three women supported each other, sharing notes, recipes and encouragement.
WeightWatchers Australasia director Joseph Saad said the trio's success was a testament to the importance of support and encouragement in making positive life changes.
