With a dry summer in store, Larnach Castle is preparing for higher water demand.

Castle executive director Norcombe Barker said extra tanks installed yesterday meant the castle would not have to buy water if the usual supply ran out.

A helicopter was needed as trucks were unable to take the tanks high enough on the hill behind the castle for the gravity feed system to work, Mr Barker said.

``We are always trying to improve the infrastructure up there and trying to make sure we have enough water for all out our guests.''

``Apparently there's a dry summer coming up so we want to avoid having to buy water in which is inconvenient and expensive.''
