Proceeds will go to providing young people with more accessibility to X-it programmes, to funding the current programmes and to providing funds for future growth, youth workers Fi Sawers and Laura Cross said late last week.
Funds were raised from ticket sales and donated auction prizes.
A total of 90 guests enjoyed the formal three-course dinner at Heritage Queenstown, with entertainment by some of the acts who competed in the 2010 Ultimate Battle of the Musos competition.
Patrons heard Chunn deliver his keynote speech on the magic of music, liberally sprinkled with anecdotes from his life and career.
Rock band the Fletcherz, comprising vocalist and bass player Sam Maxwell (15), guitarists George Hartshorn (14) and Jacob Sheehy (15) and drummer Damon Spijkerbosch (14), were crowned the Ultimate Musos.
They performed at the dinner, sat at Chunn's table and their prize will be to support an established act, yet to be arranged, at Revolver.
Vocalist-guitarist Holly Arrowsmith (16) won the Best Original Song award for Heavenly Lights, judged by singer-songwriter, producer and recording artist Andrea Cruickshank-Pearson and Studio 183 owner Dave Allison.
Miss Arrowsmith will get the chance to professionally record her song under the judges' guidance.
The timing depended on her school and exam commitments, Mr Allison said this week.
X-it Youth Centre, on Stanley St, has been running its spring holiday programme from last week and through this week.
It includes paintballing with other Central Otago youth groups in Cromwell, a trip to Invercargill, and open drop-in sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
