Three Dunedin artists are finalists in New Zealand's top ceramic prize, the Portage Ceramic Awards.
Nicola McLaren, of Mosgiel, Elise O'Neill, of Abbotsford, and Kate Fitzharris, of Waitati, were among the finalists announced yesterday.
One hundred and eighty entries will compete for the $15,000 Premier Portage Ceramic Award, six merit awards and a people's choice award.
Awards judge and Australian ceramic artist Stephen Bowers said he was impressed at the "richness and diversity" of the entries.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Auckland next Thursday.
The finalists' works will then be exhibited at Lopdell House Gallery in Auckland, until December 5.
