The recipients of the community service award are: Judy Elliott Hall, of Alexandra, Carol Haig, of Clyde; Heather McPherson, of Cromwell; Rod Peirce, of Roxburgh; and Valerie Smith, of Naseby.
Finalists have been named in these categories: youth award (Alex Darling, Sam Darling, James Sutherland); apprentice award (Luke Bottriell, Dave Ewan, Thomas Gibbons); and business excellence award (The Central App, Gary Anderson Solutions for Sound & Vision, Maniototo Cafe, The Real Dog Equipment Company).
The sole finalist for the Young Professional Award is Morgan Grundy.
Central Otago District Council regional identity manager Shirley Howden said the award recipients and finalists had ''collectively and selflessly'' given to their communities.
The awards are in their eighth year and the ceremony will this year feature guest speaker Sam Johnson, co-founder of WeVisit and Adjunct Fellow in the School of Education and Leadership at the University of Canterbury. Mr Johnson founded the Student Volunteer Army after the Canterbury earthquakes.
The awards ceremony will be held in Roxburgh on September 8.
