Students captivated a lunchtime audience with their poetry at the Athenaeum Library in Dunedin yesterday.
The pupils’ poetry spanned topics from the gold rush to schizophrenia and Peruvian travels.

Otago Access Radio youth co-ordinator Domi Angelo-Laloli said the young poets were among 20 the radio station profiled in a podcast series celebrating the literary talent of Dunedin youth.
The "Rising Stars" lunchtime recital was part of the Dunedin Writers and Readers Festival.
Lara said she became interested in poetry at school.
The chance to read her poetry on the radio, and to an audience, was both exciting and nerve-racking, she said.
