Police are investigating three thefts in the Wairuna area and Clinton over the past week.
Senior Constable Tanya Grant said a fuel tank at the rear of a cow shed in Clydevale Rd had its padlock cut off and 75 litres of petrol taken last Monday. The estimated value of the fuel was about $150.
The following day, a Stihl chainsaw was taken from a garage in Estate Rd, in the same Wairuna area as the first theft.
Snr Const Grant was unsure whether the two thefts were related.
Two cubic metres of firewood were also taken from an open shed at a house in Old Coach Rd, Clinton, over the weekend. Snr Const Grant said the offenders were believed to be known to the complainant.
Inquiries were continuing into the matter, she said.
