Currency fluctuations caused mixed results in last week's sale of North Island and South Island wool.
New Zealand Wool Services International reports that some wool types rose in price while others fell, such as fine crossbred and shears and coarse shears, which eased 1% to 4%.
Lambswool fell 3% and long oddments 1%-2%.
Coarse crossbred fleece firmed in price and short oddments rose by up to 6%.
Buyers came from China, India, West Europe and the Middle East and bought 80% of the 15,500 bales on offer.
