Fashionable start to Maori Language Week

Emere Leitch-Munro models an Amber Bridgman Kahuwai Collection outfit during a fashion parade at the University of Otago to mark the start of Maori Language Week yesterday.

Maori Centre manager Pearl Matahiki said the event was about featuring a Maori designer and celebrating her success.

A total of 12 designs were modelled for an audience of about 50.

The show was followed by a Te Roopu Maori kapa haka performance.

The University Union hangi was also very popular with items selling out quickly, she said.
