
A total of $402,911 was granted in the trust's latest funding round, and playground upgrades proved popular.
Alexandra Primary, Aspiring Beginning Early Learning and Kopuwai Early Learning Centre also received grants to revive their play areas.
Alexandra Primary principal Adele Gott said her school's $40,000 grant would go towards constructing four ``outdoor habitats'' to create an innovative outdoor learning centre, including an alfresco and dining area, a scooter and bike track, an outdoor theatre and an activity zone, available for pupils, preschool children, families and for holiday programmes.
Another education provider, Central Otago REAP received a grant of $67,500 towards its Adult Literacy, STAR Gifted one-day school and the Sticks n Stones programme.
Trust chief executive Paul Allison said the five secondary schools in the Central Lakes Trust's region collectively received $80,000 to support the continued delivery of its learning support and referral programme.
``Since 2006 Central Lakes Trust has provided funding support for this programme, which encompass special needs students and at-risk students.
``Schools highly value this funding support and continue to provide case studies to highlight the activities provided by this programme and to illustrate how they continuously adapt to meet current needs.''
Since 2000 the trust had approved grants of $80million and $2.3million of that was given out in this financial year.
