Remand on charge of damaging PM's car

A Christchurch teenager charged with damaging the Prime Minister's VIP car last week has been granted a registrar's remand without the need of an appearance before a judge today at Christchurch District Court.

Luka Emerson De Spa, of suburban Somerfield, was remanded to June 30 for another appearance before a registrar, on a charge of intentionally damaging the car, the property of VIP Transport.

He was arrested at the scene of a protest in Christchurch on June 9 after someone was seen jumping on top of the car. No plea has been entered.
