Jake McComb is a third year music student at the University of Otago, and could think of no better way to celebrate finishing his degree than going on tour.
"It started off as a plan to do a show when I arrived home to New Plymouth and then kind of escalated as I started adding shows between Dunedin and there" he said.
"I'm even playing a show on the Interislander."
Viices is a mix of hiphop and rock that Jake performs live with a guitar, loop pedal and drum machine. His tour will take him to Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, New Plymouth and Hamilton, and is a milestone in his musical career.
"I'm just so hyped for it. I'm playing with some really amazing musicians in some awesome venues. There's a couple of nostalgia points too: Inch Bar was my first gig here in Dunedin, Escape (in New Plymouth) was where I first started playing as Viices, just busking. I think I only ever made enough to pay for my car park!"
"I've just finished some recording too, so I can't wait to drop some new music to kick the tour off".
You can catch Viices playing at Vogel Street Party on the 14th October and at Inch Bar on Friday the 20th.
