Legionnaires death

A woman in her 90s has died from legionnaires’ disease, which is spreading through Melbourne’s north and west, health authorities say.

So far there have been 60 confirmed cases of legionnaires’ in the state, and Victoria’s chief health officer Clare Looker confirmed 59 people had been admitted to hospital.

The source of the outbreak was being linked to a cooling tower in the Laverton North and Derrimut area of Melbourne, she said.
