After eight years hosting his community Christmas lunch, the former mayor of Invercargill, Sir Tim Shadbolt, has exchanged the mayoral chains for a Santa suit.
He said his favourite part of the day was the cheerful and festive spirit of people.
About 40 guests identified by community organisations as those in need were invited to the lunch at Whanake House.
