The oyster season officially ends today as whitebaiters prepare to take the baton for slimy southern delicacies.
Sales have strong for Bluff oysters but the season wasn't particularly strong for quality or quantity, Barnes Oysters Ltd general manager Graeme Wright said.
The 2023 whitebait season officially starts tomorrow, September 1, and runs until October 30.
