A popular Dunedin track may soon be shut off to the public due to "ignorant" walkers failing to close gates and letting livestock out.
Cutting through the fields of former Dunedin City councillor Doug Hall’s 202 hectares is the Cleghorn St track, a private path open to the public.
There he raises sheep and cattle, both of which keep escaping because of walkers pushing the gates shut, but not latching them properly.
