REUBEN GRAY
2012: A singer and guitarist whose band was a regional finalist in the Smokefree Rockquest, Gray had also been selected for Otago touch teams. He planned to study contemporary music at the University of Otago.
2022: Gray completed a music degree and a postgraduate diploma in history and classics, then started a business to help musicians with their artistic development. Currently travelling in Europe, he still enjoys performing solo and in groups. He gave up touch rugby after leading Otago to its first national medal (under-21, mixed), then gaining two silver medals (open, mixed) and spending his final year in Otago’s first open men’s team.
