Key isn't ruling out more tax changes in the future

Prime Minister John Key has indicated there won't be any more tax cuts for a while - but he isn't ruling it out.

He told reporters in Auckland today the package delivered in yesterday's budget would be a fair deal if it was in place for a number of years.

"I am happy with the structure of the taxes," he said.

"I am not going to rule out that there might be other changes in the future. There always can be."

Mr Key said the Government hadn't changed the level of taxation, it had changed the mix.

"It is about broadening the base. It fits with the objectives of the Government," he said.
