Two men have been remanded in custody over the assault and robbery of Tauranga taxi driver.
The victim received treatment at Tauranga Hospital for cuts to his upper back and shoulder following the alleged attack early on Saturday, the Bay of Plenty Times reported.
Mount Maunganui men Tame Awhio Rikiti, 18, and Ronald Thompson, 20, both unemployed, were jointly charged with aggravated robbery and injuring with intent to injure, when they appeared in Tauranga District Court yesterday.
They are due to re-appear in the court tomorrow to make bail applications.
