Terry Jones, 44, from Richmond in Nelson, is believed to have information which would help police Operation Genoa.
More than $3 million in assets, including a Ferrari, Porsche and Maserati, were seized during police searches across the country earlier this month as part of the operation - a lengthy investigation into the manufacture and supply of methamphetamine in the Auckland region.
Mr Jones is described as a New Zealand European, 175cm tall and with a distinctive birthmark on his left cheek.
He is believed to be somewhere in the Nelson region, police said.
