Petrol prices have dropped for the fourth time in two weeks, due to further falls in the international prices of refined petrol and diesel.
Shell led the way with a 4c a litre price cut at midday, taking unleaded 91 down to $2.02 a litre, higher octane fuel to $2.07, and diesel to $1.79.
BP and Caltex also dropped their prices by 4c a litre.
Petrol prices have been fallen by 16c a litre in the last fortnight.
AA spokesman Mike Noonan said the fall in diesel price was particularly pleasing.
"Diesel was the one that really did need to move, it hasn't moved as much as petrol."
He commended the oil companies' quick response to falling international prices.
"The market still is volatile internationally, and you can't bank on this continuing into the future, but it's very heartening to see the prices going the right way."
