Two seriously injured people are in hospital following an alleged assault in central Christchurch early today.
Police said officers were called shortly after 4am to Hereford St, where the injured people were found, RNZ reports
St Johns said two people had been taken to Christchurch Hospital, one in a critical condition and the other in a serious condition.
Police said they were investigating.
