Two new charges have been laid against a 27-year-old Somalian accused of a violent knife-wielding rampage across Christchurch.
The man, who has name suppression, is accused of attempted murder and kidnapping in the March 15 drama that ended with him being Tasered and shot by police.
He has been in Hillmorton psychiatric hospital in Christchurch since recovering from his gunshot wounds and was earlier deemed fit to plead to the original charges.
He is accused of the kidnapping and stabbing of Christchurch delivery driver Marteine Robin and a city council worker.
The man was excused from appearing today at Christchurch District Court, where the new charges were revealed.
They relate to incidents that allegedly occurred at Redwood Primary School earlier on March 15.
He is accused of frightening and threatening to injure a person, and intentionally damaging a glass door pane at the school.
Defence counsel Alister Davis told Judge Gary MacAskill said his client already faced other "very serious charges'' relating to the events of March 15.
He had been due to appear today for a post-committal conference but Mr Davis asked for a new date for that hearing so all charges could be heard together.
He also asked for name suppression to continue, at least until that date.
Judge MacAskill agreed and remanded the defendant in custody at Hillmorton to appear in court on June 22.
