A wooden memorial seat dedicated to Ms Aim was set on a spot where she liked to visit to take in the view, TV3 News reported tonight.
It featured an engraved plaque with her name and nickname "Our Peedie Buddo", meaning our little friend.
The 26-year-old backpacker's parents and her brother were presented with a painting of Ms Aim their at this morning's unveiling.
They were to take it to their Orkney Islands home, off the north coats of Scotland.
Mr Aim said they needed to see for themselves where Ms Aim was killed.
Jahche Broughton, 15, has pleaded guilty to beating Ms Aim to death on January 17 last year.
Mr Aim said he still might speak with Jahche before he leaves the country.
