A man who suffered burns to his body after a jetski exploded at a factory in Auckland is in a stable condition in hospital.
Emergency services were called to an explosion at a building on Atkinson Ave, in Otahuhu, about 9.30pm yesterday.
A man was taken to Middlemore Hospital in a moderate condition after suffering burns.
A spokeswoman for the hospital this morning said the man was stable and doing well.
Northern fire communications spokesman Jaron Philips said the explosion caused the jetski to burst into flames inside the building where it was stored.
"It was on fire inside a shed, and the shed was attached to other buildings."
Firefighters "managed to contain it [the fire] pretty quickly," he said.
