The golden run of fine weather continues today with agreeable conditions over much of the country.

MetService meteorologist Claire Flynn said the North and South Islands would enjoy a dry and sunny autumn day

While there would be a bit of cloud around the upper and western parts of the North Island, the rest of the island would bask in clear skies.

Ms Flynn said across the South Island the sun would be shining with not much cloud around, apart from Fiordland which would get a bit of drizzle.

Temperatures would sit in the late teens and early 20s across both islands with Auckland expected to reach 20C and Wellington 18C.

Christchurch could expect a stunning 22C day and Dunedin a fine, sunny 20C.
