Appointment announced to replace Hague

Department of Conservation operations director for the eastern South Island Nicola Toki has been appointed the new chief executive of Forest & Bird.

Ms Toki will begin in April and will succeed Kevin Hague, who is retiring after six years heading the conservation group.

Ms Toki has previously worked in conservation leadership roles in the agribusiness industry, the Predator Free New Zealand movement, as Doc’s threatened species ambassador, and has represented New Zealand at international biodiversity science and policy meetings.
