St Hilda's Collegiate School flanker Meg Timu, daughter of former All Black John Timu, made a break for the line in the second half of the Dunedin school's round-robin game against Nelson's Waimea College at the annual girls rugby festival in Oamaru yesterday.

St Hilda's beat Southland Girls' High School 29-17 in the third-fourth playoff at St Kevin's College.

The Forward Foundation team beat Motueka High School 29-17 in the final.

The tournament team would be named today, organiser Geoff Simons said. Teams complete the tournament with sevens games today.
