The school's long awaited new uniforms were supposed to arrive in time for pupils to wear on the first day of term.
However, a shortage of stock meant the suppliers were unable to meet demand for the uniforms until this week, Bayfield High School teacher and publicity manager Lynda Scott-Araya said.
Since the beginning of the year, the pupils had been wearing mufti until the new uniforms arrived, and some parents had expressed frustration about the delays.
Now the uniforms had arrived, staff were smiling again and the pupils looked fantastic, she said.
"The students are still taking time to get used to it, but certainly, parents and staff think they look great. They look smarter."
Year 9 pupils began wearing the new junior uniform to school yesterday and year 11 pupils will begin wearing the new senior uniform next week.
It will be gradually phased in across all year levels except year 13, which will remain in mufti clothing.
