The Aiden Gall Show

Logan Park pupil, Aiden Gall, was one of three students selected nationally to report for TVNZ's Erin Simpson Show website on a weekly basis.

Auditions were held in early June 2010 and by the end of the month Aiden had become a part time reporter for this popular kids programmr.

Aiden speaks about his experience with the show and his possible future in television.

"I was surprised and humble about the opportunity at hand and the possibilities this could present."

Five schools were selected for auditions, but only three were prepared to take on the job.

Aiden competed for his place against a number of other candidates within Logan Park High School; it was his diverse and interesting take on the use of cell phones in popular culture that won over the judges at whitebait TV.

Bridie from Tauranga and Ben from Nelson were also selected to blog weekly reports as flip reporters on the show.

After five weeks of hard work and countless hours, Aiden was called up to the whitebait studio in Christchurch to be on the show.

After four hours of shooting, Aiden, Ben and Bridie had completed their first two Erin Simpson Shows, including a show that was entirely hosted by them.

"Literally one of the best experiences of my life. It was truly exhilarating and opened up many doors in terms of career opportunities."

Aiden is now considering taking Media Communications at University next year and is looking out for more opportunities like this.

His Erin Simpson Show contract is due to finish in September 2010. Aiden's clips have recently been uploaded onto YouTube as well as on The Erin Simpson Show website.

"I think it's pretty cool to be associated with TVNZ, New Zealand's longest running network."
