Police have arrested a youth allegedly connected to a recent spree of thefts in Karitāne.
Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said the arrest came after police carried out two search warrants in the Karitāne area yesterday.
The warrants followed a spree of cars being stolen, property taken from cars and burglaries in the area over the last few weeks.
As a result, a youth was arrested for burglary and a number of items were seized.
Investigations were still ongoing as police wait for forensic results to come to assist with their investigations, Snr Sgt Bond said.
The youth was bailed to appear in Youth Court next week.
