A driver who fled police in an allegedly stolen car was arrested after it was spiked in South Dunedin yesterday.

A police spokesman said they arrested a man at a property in Helena St, at about 8.40am yesterday, after he earlier fled from officers in a car that was alleged to have been stolen.

The car was spiked in Forbury Rd and came to a stop at a property in Hillside Rd.

The 40-year-old was charged in relation to the incident, including dangerous driving and robbery charges, and is due to appear in the Dunedin District Court today, the spokesman said.
