Teacher Pauline Spence had planned to spend yesterday afternoon tidying up her classroom, before enjoying the start of the school holidays.
Instead, she spent the day dealing with police and arranging repairs, after arriving to find 21 panes in four windows had been smashed on Saturday night or yesterday morning.
It was expected repairs would cost the school "hundreds" of dollars at least, she said.
That would use up the $600 to $700 raised at a staff quiz night and school disco in the past week.
"There goes the money for reading books, or whatever . . . on fixing windows," she said.
The damage to timber frames around the windows indicated a skateboard or similar object had been used to smash the windows of the school's reading recovery room, she said.
Those responsible had not tried to gain entry to the school, and nothing had been stolen.
Police told her a window was broken in a nearby Caversham business about the same time, Ms Space said.
