Parents, lock up your children.

The Fab Four for under-5s is coming to Dunedin.

Australian-based children's entertainment group The Wiggles is returning to Dunedin for the first time since 2002 as part of a nationwide tour.

The red, blue, yellow and purple skivvie-clad singing and dancing quartet will perform two shows in Dunedin on April 7.

Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword will join Anthony, Jeff, Murray and Sam for the show.

They will perform songs from their new, award-winning, album You Make Me Feel Like Dancing.

"We have always enjoyed coming to New Zealand, with its breathtaking sights and the warm hospitality we always receive," blue Wiggle Anthony Field said in a statement.

The Wiggles' 17-year career has seen them sell more than 23 million DVDs and seven million CDs worldwide and entertain millions of fans.

The Wiggles phenomenon has seen the franchise not only produce DVDs and CDs but also open theme parks and play centres in Australia and the US.

Tickets go on sale on December 1 at the Regent Theatre.
