Dunedin boat users should be wary after a series of thefts in Dunedin, Senior Sergeant Mark Crawford said.
Rope and fishing knives were taken between Wednesday afternoon and yesterday morning. from the deck of a fishing boat moored at Careys Bay, he said.
An attempt to enter the locked cabin on the boat was unsuccessful, he said.
Also, 10 boats near the Broad Bay Boating Club, in Portobello Rd, were unlawfully entered.
A 25-litre fuel tank was taken from a boat on a trailer in the club car park between Monday afternoon and Friday afternoon, he said.
Boat users should consider ''tagging their tank'' so it was identifiable in police checks, Snr Sgt Crawford said.
