Wellington artist Bob Kerr talks at the Toitu Early Settlers Museum on Saturday about his art, which explores the complexities of war.

Mr Kerr has used art to detail the experience of conscientious objectors during World War 1, including Dunedin’s Archibald Baxter.

His video exhibition detailing the punishment Mr Baxter endured called Number One Field Punishment is now on display at the museum.

Earlier this year, the Archibald Baxter Memorial Trust was granted a resource consent to build a memorial honouring World War 1 conscientious objector at the corner of Albany and George Sts.
