Police are making inquiries as a walker in the Waikouaiti River area has been reported overdue.
A police spokeswoman said initial inquiries were under way this evening, after the person was reported overdue in the area of the Otago river, north of Dunedin.
There was no indication the person was in the water, the spokeswoman said.
No further information was immediately available.
