Wagon workshop coming into focus

The scale of the new mechanical workshop at Dunedin’s Hillside Railway workshops is becoming apparent as steel framing goes up on the construction site.

The multimillion-dollar KiwiRail facility will be used for assembly of wagons, along with servicing of locomotives and wagons.

Parts of the new workshop are expected to start operating as early as next year.
