One person has been taken to Dunedin Hospital following a two-car crash near Outram this afternoon.
The collision happened on the Taieri River Bridge, on State Highway 87, near George King Memorial Drive about 2pm.
Constable Amie Manning, of Dunedin, said it appeared "driver inexperience'' had led to the crash, as the 18-yeasr-old driver of a Ford ute was on her learner's licence.
She was taken by ambulance to hospital with minor injuries.
Two adults and a young child in the other vehicle, a Holden Colorado four-wheel-drive, were not hurt.
Two ambulances, a fire engine and three police cars attended the scene.
One lane of the bridge was closed for about an hour as the crash site was cleared, but had since reopened.
