A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) spokesman said firefighters were called to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of North Rd and Cleghorn St at 9.25am.
Fenz sent two units, one each from Willowbank and Roslyn.
When they arrived, they found the vehicle had rolled over a bank.
The occupant was in the ute but was not trapped.
Firefighters helped with first aid until ambulance staff arrived and took over.
A police spokeswoman said one person had minor injuries.
