An untimely lane change resulted in two women from Mataura, being taken to hospital following a collision in Dunedin yesterday.

Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken said the driver changed lanes on Great King St about 10.15am and swerved in front of an EnviroWaste truck.

The car was badly damaged and the truck received minor damage to its front.

Inquiries were continuing and he could not say if charges would be laid, Snr Sgt Aitken said.
