Dunedin City Council transport and New Zealand Transport Agency staff are satisfied trucks will be stopped from entering Dunedin's Cadbury factory site from Anzac Ave after discussions with the company.
The council raised concerns about the practice after it came up during discussions on improving the safety of Anzac Ave and Castle St for cyclists.
Both the NZTA and Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull subsequently spoke to Cadbury staff who, they said, agreed it was bad practice and would ask their truck drivers to stop it.
NZTA project manager Simon Underwood told a council meeting this week he had seen a truck make the manoeuvre once since Cadbury said it would be stopped and had contacted , which said it would speak again to truck drivers about it.
The issue was that trucks were crossing the centre line in Anzac Ave before turning to enter the factory, Mr Underwood said.
