Trial roundabout put to test

A motorist (below) drives through the middle of a freshly marked trial roundabout in North Dunedin.

The new roundabout was marked at the intersection where Park St, Regent Rd and St David St meet George St.

The roundabout was installed at the intersection beside Night ‘n Day yesterday after 15 crashes at the spot between 2018 and last year — one of them serious.

It appeared motorists were still adjusting to the new roundabout yesterday as the Otago Daily Times witnessed multiple cars being driven directly through the painted circle.
