Dunedin tourism leaders had an opportunity to discuss their concerns yesterday at the first of 10 workshops being held nationwide by the Tourism Industry Association of New Zealand.
Chief executive Tim Cossar, of Wellington, said concerns raised at the workshop would be delivered directly to Prime Minister John Key, who is also the Minister of Tourism, at a leaders symposium in Wellington next month.
Concerns voiced include the reliance on Australia as opposed to smaller but more lucrative markets, how to capitalise on the domestic market and website marketing.
More than 40 industry representatives from as far afield as Central Otago and Oamaru attended the regional leadership workshop, held at the Scenic Circle Southern Cross.
