Mobile Learning Centre learning specialist Eve Reed taught Brockville School pupils how to programme Dash the robot, during a visit to the school yesterday.
The Noel Leeming-supported centre is a free community initiative that travels to low decile and smaller schools across the country, in a bid to inspire teachers and pupils as to how technology can enhance the learning experience.
The group has visited more than 170 schools around New Zealand, and is in Dunedin this week showing pupils at Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Otepoti, Brockville School, Pinehill School and Halfway Bush School how to use the latest technology, including programming robots and using 3-D printers and virtual reality goggles.
