Taieri voters - get set to meet the candidates next week.
The Rotary Club of Mosgiel co-director Danna Reeve said the club had invited the 37 local body election nominees running for Dunedin City Council to speak at Taieri College Performing Arts Centre in Mosgiel from 7.30pm on Thursday, September 19.
Ms Reeve, of Mosgiel, said most of the nominees had accepted the invitation.
Each candidate would be given a set time to speak to reveal what they considered to be important issues in Dunedin, especially on the Taieri.
The order of speakers would be drawn randomly on the night.
Mayoral candidates would not be given extra time.
She hoped the event would give people a chance to learn more about the candidates and in many cases "put a face to a name''.
"You'll be able to have a cup of tea with them afterwards and have a talk with them to get to know them a bit better.''
Ms Reeve encouraged people to make an informed vote to ensure the right candidates were elected to the city, which the Taieri was an "important part'' of.
The event was also a chance for the community to see inside the "lovely'' new school hall.
"It's such an asset to have in the community.''
Auctioneer Grant McLean would MC to ensure the night flowed, she said.
