A fur seal sunning itself on the Portobello Rd causeway held up the morning commute for some Dunedin motorists today.
Police stepped in to control traffic for a time before the seal was eventually encouraged back into the water.
The seal has been making itself at home in the upper harbour for some time and has frequently had to be shifted on from properties, roads and bike paths near the harbour.
