Sugary drinks will be banned from sale at Southern District Health Board premises under a policy approved this week.
The healthy food and drink policy affects food and drink provided or available for purchase in health board premises for employees or visitors.
Staff may also be served smaller portion sizes in hospital cafes, and there are rules for vending machines and snack boxes.
The policy was unanimously approved by the full board on Thursday.
