Renovations are coming to an end as a large crane removes scaffolding from the central section of the Dunedin Railway Station yesterday.

A Dunedin City Council spokesman said work on the central part of the building was complete, meaning scaffolding could be removed.

The remaining scaffolding would be removed once work on the southern end of the building was complete, expected to take place in September.

Dunedin residents and tourists may soon be able to enjoy the beauty of the railway station after years of renovations.
